Where do I stand in this situation?

    Hello,
Recently I recived a DMCA notice to take off copyrighted content from my site. I proceeded to removed the content and that was the end of that.
Today I sold my site(the design, visitors and SERP). I was wondering if the new owner decided to put copyrighted material back up onto the site, would I be liable for suing?
I may be, as I sold the site.
I may not be as I don't own the site.

    Thanks for your advice.

Make sure that all records are transferred out of your name (doamin, hosting, etc...). If the new owner puts up offending material after you can clearly show you sold the site, then you should be fine. Just make sure everything that points to you is gone (AdSense publisher ID, contact page, etc...). Make sure you keep a record of the transaction with a receipt.
