Where do I put backlinks ect thousands?

Hello, New Here

Been Researching and it seems backlinks is a great way to go about seo. But, I have what may seem as a silly question, where do you put these backlinks?. Now, as far as I have been researching I put my link on their site and they put a link on mine but what about when it becomes hundreds of links?

I don't just put links on my website right? otherwise you would come across these big page rank sites that have all these thousands of links?
Am I suppost to post backlinks up on the server?

And to be correct backlinks are simply a html code ect?? <a href="www.theirwebsitename.com">link title</>

that I put on my site , I have done many google searches and I don't see anywhere that anyone is explaining how you put these thousands of backlinks on your website?

It is a simple reference code back to their website right? and if so as I just said surely you don't put thousands of reference links on your site ?

Basically i'm not even sure how i put a backlink on my site lol. Is it even a link or something i do on the server I'm using control panel is my host panel.

Very silly questions i'm sure it may seem to most, new to backlinks ect lol (the type of backlinks when they agree to put mine on their site and I put their link on my site not just backlinks linking to my site)

so both two way and Reciprocal.

How do I put all these links on my site?

usually most site owner who do 2 way or recip linking build a separate page that can be called partner page or link partner, etc. if you have hundreds of links, then yuo can setup several pages for them. like partner page 1, partner page 2, etc. dont put any of those links on your main page but link to the partner page from your main page.

that will increase you backlinks.

and the anchored text will give you some high rank in google.

I think in Directory, article, press release, classifieds ads, social bookmarking or social media field.

 

You can build backlinks through forums, article submission, blog commenting, press release, in social networking sites and in classified ads..

 

I would not recommend reciprocal links! It won't get your webpage higher ranked. I recommend building your own backlinks by posting on websites, making articles, blog comments and so on.
