DirectoryDude, Fine-tuning the PPC campaign is 99% of what actually makes the difference. If someone can do it right there is no need for them whatsoever to work for you. If they can't I don't see why would you want to hire them. Give me a product ID and I'll send you a rought PPC campaign within 5 minutes for free. Will it convert? Somewhat. Will it be profitable? Most likely no. Can it be tuned to be profitable? Probably, if somebody who knows the stuff invests time and effort into it. The only scenario when it makes sense to outsource advertising is if you actually manufacture something yourself. But if you are just an affiliate yourself I don't see how this will work.
So in other words in order to run a PPC / CB (or other affiliate) campaign you cannot outsource but need to do everything yourself in order to profit ? I see the advantage of doing it yourself but still does not make sense to me about hiring people for the task. Anyway, as I stated in earlier post I will just do it myself even though I am short of time, it just will take longer. Thanks for your comment
Fair enough Westoff I apologize for taking a jab at you. It was nothing personal and yes was a bit humorous. Sometimes people make claims that seem a little excessive and 500% guaranteed ROI is hard to absorb mate. Banks and financial experts in the billions/trillions don't make this so it's hard to justify at DP. No offense mate onwards and upwards.
Wow. Very nice thread. I am in similar situation as Directorydude so I started working on automation of my current online business which is giving me enough to pay my staff and then I hired a PA and hired developer to fullfil more dreams of setting up more online businesses. For me, the best approach is to have a business partner joining you with similar mindset, goals and target and setting up scope of work for each partner and they both investing in equal amount of money or whatever comes out of agreement and then working towards it. I won't personally outsource and I won't do everything alone by myself either. I would rather find a good business partner who shares similar goals as me and then setup a team and then do what I exactly did my current online business and I have enough peace of mind.
Would love to hook up with a business partner and share ideas, investment & revenue but unfortunately it is very hard to trust anyone because of all the scammers roaming around on this forum.
I promised I'd keep you updated and here is the status so far: 1.) Identify Product - Myself - Complete 2.) Research Keywords - Myself - Complete 3.) Acquire Related Domain - Myself - Complete 4.) Write Content - Outsource - Did get some content on there myself - might have to fine tune 5.) Landing Page Design - Outsource Or Find Template - Found a template and modified it 6.) PPC Campaign - Myself + Possibly Outsource To Fine tune - 200 Keywords identified Getting ready to launch The site is now live and ready for PPC campaign. What I still might have to do is fine tune the content and or landing page after I test it. How much text content is ideal ? (# words) I did the SEO as best as I could. Still need to add an opt-in at some point. Anyone has an alternative script rather than signing up for AWeber for now ?
Well, Here's the latest news. All items completed and although I did setup a campaign with adwords it is showing as active but with no impressions. And yes, the bid per keyword is high enough. Having said that I proceeded to open PPC campaigns with other companies and I've made two sales already for a total of approx $70. That is within 2 days of setting up the website / campaign. I'm sure I should be able to do a lot better than that and could fine tune it but only time will show. At this point it is too late to hire someone for anything as they would probably just use the information in their own campaigns.
