I'm so lost in this stuff, I am a poker affiliate. I have built a great site, see my signature......but its 3 days old and I don't even know where to begin with it all. Anyone care to offer insight?
Well, with your site being new, it may take a little longer for you to rank. 1) Find out what your keywords you are targeting 2) Start a link building campaign. 3) Continue to add content. 4) Be active in Poker Forums, putting your link in your signature if possible... 5) Post comments and guest posts on Poker blogs...
Indeed it is a highly competitive area....I presume you have already a clue for which keywords you want to rank (or you can perform a search here and get a list of keywords). Based on those keywords you can comeup with a more lucrative title tag (don't forget to include the keywords) which will be short but long enough. I did also notice a poor use of heading tags in your homepage and for your main keywords specifically, there are also too many empty alt tags which could be very well used. I am not sure if this is a start, but I think in a competitive niche like poker...this is a MUST. P.S. I love your design and specially the sidebar menu.
Great site i like the design i recomend building backlinks and like the other person said stay active in poker forums and add ur signature to ur site and offer something that ur competitors dont offers so that way people will wanna join your site instead
mjmurphy, a good place to start would be getting to know other poker affiliates. You may find specific information and resources at the poker affiliate forum below. http://www.pokeraffiliateprograms.com/forums/ It's not a huge forum, but it will get you in touch with some people in your niche. Post good content and then more good content. google is designed to bring the searching individual what they want so the more origional content that is regularly updates works.it takes time i believe.good luck regards dd
