Where Do I Add Image Size

I know I should add the dimensions of images I upload to my site, but where exactly?

I think it's in the 'Alt' text box. Is that correct?

Should I add it to the Title as well? Or is it best to keep the title short but describe the image accurately without having the image size there as well?

    Thanks in advance.

Can you please be more specific and tell what did you mean by 'I know I should add the dimensions of images I upload to my site' ?

If you're talking about setting the dimensions of an image within the '< img />' tag, then yes you can set the dimensions there using the 'width' and 'height' attributes. See this => http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_img.asp

No, the alt is used for an alternate text for the image and it _should_ be the same name as the image filename itself AFAIK. For example if I have an image called 'my-personal-pc.png', then the 'alt' should be 'Image of my personal pc'.

Basically, the 'alt' attribute will show up when someone browse your website using a browser without image support or the particular image is not found in the specified URL.

The 'title' attribute will show up its content in a tooltip when someone is 'onhover' on the image. So, I would say that you should put a description there.

    You're welcome.

I wish I could be more specific and use HTML, but as yet I only use the Upload Image option on my WordPress Edit page. This gives you the option to fill in text boxes for Title, Alt, Caption and Description So I'm wondering which of the text boxes I should add the image dimensions - for example, 250x250, or 350x270 etc.

I spent all morning at the Google's Webmaster site investigating Image Optimization. They give many reasons why you should add image size dimensions to your image uploads - for example, to increase page loading speed and maximize SEO opportunities for your images.

I've been unsure for a while about whether these dimensions should go in the Alt text box, or the Title text box or both. Maybe even the Description box as well?

And thanks for the speedy reply!
