I been to numerous websites that analyze the SEO on your site. A lot of these sites have a Social Section that lists Facebook likes. Every one of these places say I have 17 likes when I have 250+. Where are these places pulling this statistic from? I'm trying to find the source so I can figure out if I'm doing something wrong on my site or if the source is wrong that it's not detecting the correct # of likes. For instance my site is http://unlocktheinbox.com., in the top right you can see the # of likes When you type my URL in tools like http://www.likeexplorer.com/ it (shows 17) http://www.check-domains.com/website-analysis/website-analyzer.php (shows 17) Obviously, they all must be pulling from the same source.
250+ is your Facebook fan page like not your likes for your website. Website likes and fan page likes are not the same. There was a good discussion here - http://moz.com/community/q/facebook-like-my-website-or-fan-page
Spujap is right. You're talking about two different types of stats as pertaining to your Facebook Fan page and your actual website.
