hello: Lately I am noticing how some sites that used to have a link on their footer to their links directories have removed it from their footer. Can anyone tell me why a website do that? How do you do a link exchange campaign and not have the links folder?
Just a guess: they still have links folder. They don't link to it in an attempt to trick link exchange partners, thinking they will not notice. At leat I received link exchange requests from quite a few cases where their link pages were not indexed at all, no links pointing to them, but they were still full of partners.
in effect they're removing your links while they hope that their link partners keep the links to their site.
yeah... I was giving them the benefit of the doubt thinking there was a good reason to not link to their links folder... thanks for clarifying...
