You can start by visiting the Buy/Sell part of the forum and starting a thread about your offer, and how much you want to charge.

There is a restriction because you don't have enough posts. Read the Forum Rules.

If I were you, I would approach companies that are advertising on similar sites to yours and give them a really good deal, or maybe even a "free" trial of 10,000 impressions or so.

    Hi people

whats a going rate for 1000 impressions on a niche website. I'm assuming it varies a bit, but what kind of range are we talking?

Also if you set something like that up, what would an advertiser want from you as proof that you had those impressions?

    Thanks

Typically from $1-3. That going rate is known as CPM, or Cost Per Thousand (M is a Roman numeral).

thanks. I'm thinking seriously about this route. I've got a few advertisers in mind

CPM yeh that sounds familiar! - as you can tell i'm new to this. I've had websites for years, but it was more to do with 'the fun of making them' than earning a revenue.

What about my other point though.... what kind of proof does an advertiser require to see how many impressions there were. Do they just take your word for it? Is there a standard software package that tracks these things, that advertisers trust. What do you use?? I could right a simple script that counts impressions, but would that satisfy advertizers.

Thanks for taking the time to help me!

A third party statistics software is the best. I use addfreestats.com for example, the stats are pretty good.

The cpm depends on the kind of website, some days ago I found a big gaming website where the rate is $25 cpm.

    hi

I have a student site and was interested in your offer(s), but:

    a) your site wouldnt load for me just now (2mb ADSL here)
    b) if your site is forum related, the click thru rates are very very low so your rates are very high

Id still like to see your site thou - is it offline ?
