Where can I search domain name?

    Hi,

I have faced a bad experience with domaintools.com. 3 days back I have searched a sharmarket related domain, and it was available to register, then I have planned to register it after two hours. But after two hours that name was registered by someone.[The same thing was happened 6 months before] I think they are monitoring user's queries and if they find some valuable domain, then they have registered.:(.

Where can I search & buy domain names without this type of cheating?

I have never had a problem with whois.sc Maybe it was just coiincidence?

Although I did have this same issue with checking domain availability with Godaddy.

You can perform whois searches directly at the Verisign registry also: http://registrar.verisign-grs.com/whois/

Yeah, maybe it is just only a coincidence. Many are happy with domaintools as their queries are not monitored but sometimes their search result are not in real time.

I'd recommend doing your search at namecheap.

This is old news. Some domain availability sites run some sort of software to capture people's queries. So don't search for any domain until you are ready to proceed and register it within a couple of minutes of knowing its availability. If you're not checking availability through your registrar, you need to login to your account immediately and purchase (lease) the domain name before someone else snatches it up.

Why didn't you grab it immediately thinking it was a valuable one? :D

Don't blame whois.sc, it was your mistake. ;)
