there are so many free bloghosts on the Internet! there's also livejournal, squarespace, but wordpress.com and blogspot are probably the most popular, and you can do so much with them
Yep, those are the 2 big ones. Both have their good and bad points. But either one will work. Google seems to really like blogspot. I can post a new article, and its usually indexed with 15 - 20 minutes. But wordpress has more options, such as being able to schedule post. This makes it really nice if you want to sit down on one day, write all of your post, then schedule them out over the next week. That way it "looks" like your updating it daily or every other day.
With some web hosting service provider, you could get free domain if you sign up with their service. You can use their tools to check the available domains.
there are thousands of free wordpress hosts out there if you bother to go looking. Great for autoblogs, of course.
Blogger and Wordpress also provide customized domain name with minimum yearly payment. At least, with that kind of feature, you need not worry about maintaining your ftp files.
exactly raphnix... good point, didn't know they did that I imagine you plan to use your blog for business, if so... Why should anyone trust you with their business if you can't invest in a domain name at least?
You can get free blog from blogger, word press, blog.co.in, blog.com, blog.ca, edu.blogs.com ect.,.....
If you take up a free domain offer, best to be careful who you use and check the TOS, personally for the sake of $7-$10 I would reg the domain somewhere other than the host. I got caught out in the past where the company put their details on the domain whois. Also I had no actual control over the domain itself i.e. nameservers and such. In the end I waited till it expired and re-regged it elsewhere.
