Well, I am getting fed up with the alibis of my current hosting and i am having a change of heart, can anyone suggest a hosting that have what this posting title says?
strato.de hetzner.de root or managed server typically european servers NOW are far above US based quality in HW and performance while having same prices well worth to consider one of above 2 hosts i just moved to hetzner.de these days for a high end root server package 59 euro / month - 64 bit CPU, 2 GB ram, 2x300 GB raid1 sata drive, absolutely UNlimited traffic - OS of my choice ( i prefer suse linux 10.1 ) ... based on direct recommendations of professionals having servers there since years
For monitoring, you might check out HyperSpin. As far as the server - there are a lot of different places. You might also take a look at TechEvolution.
Thank you guys! i will look into into it...because my current hosting says that monitoring of the server is charged under managed servers that's understandable, but that is what i do as an admin, what i do need to monitor is the hardware integrity, at which as far as i know i must be alerted when the machines were having or experiencing overheating and it will always be included as i was paying for a dedicated server for a $100+ plus a server. What i think to a non managed server is a server who doesn't have a dedicated admin, but always have an SOP hardware integrity monitor.
LiquidWeb I have a dedicated server there. They have excellent live support. They pick up the phone in a couple of rings and I have yet to get a support rep who wasn't extremely knowledgeable. Very, very pleased.
Hi, If you are looking for managed server then you can try www.servermatrix.com they are pretty good and if unmanaged then www.softlayer.com is recommended! Thanks, Saad
They say on their page that if your traffic goes above 1000 gigs per month they cap your port at 10 mbps which is the equivalent of about 3000 gigs a month. Too bad about the 99 euro setup, thats a bit of a down point. Also they say they offer 64 bit CentOS but not 32 bit CentoS which makes no sense. But their prices look very very good. Generous RAM in the upper packages also.
Thank you guys for your reply, i had evaluated and the winner is softlayer.com, though i will look still for other hostings, if this wont work or if this dont agrees with my terms. Any background or feedback or experience with softlayer? what i like is the customization of their packages and the power to chose the parts of the packages that i really needed. Thank you guys, again and again.
I have heard softlayer is good. But I have also heard its a bit pricey. Personally I like to risk service in order to get a good bang for the buck. And it all depends on what a person wants. Do you need CPU horsepower above all? RAM? Bandwidth(uncapped)? A KVM? Another possibility is to get a raw server and then buy a third party managing service. It all depends on what service you need and what you can do yourself too. Also you can use software like nagios and watchdog to do 99% of the monitoring and recovery yourself.
