Godaddy are offering .info domain names for $1 at the moment. I think this is just for the first year though.
Godaddy is good. They have vairous offers that eventually make their prices really affordable. Maybe you need to see the coupon section in DP for the right info.
You use search engine for more coupon and you can save money. Many people using Godaddy and you can reads my post about domain hosting
I like to use namecheap because they give you free whois privacy and there are always coupons around.

Godaddy is not at its best anymore. They are getting into shady waters by charging your credit card (which you haven't consented them to keep) to renew your domains that you don't want to. Here is my story: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1260460 Also, after your first $1.20 year for .info, you will have to renew them for $7-8. I suggest namecheap for the free whois privacy too. Godaddy charges $8 for that per year.
Yeah, they are very slow for me too. I actually requested that they consider showing all those branding messages to non-members and allow a simple login to dashboard for members. I was asked to submit a traceroute log so they can investigate what makes the site seem slow on my side... I think it is pretty obvious... BOOBS!
Godaddy is the cheapest..personally I have never bought Domains thru them as I think there has to be a catch to their cheap Pricing..Have also read that there are issues in transferring out the Domains booked at Godaddy.. Is anyone aware of any such issues?
If you really want a "cheap" domain, you can't go past the .tk extention which is free. But that extention sucks & you can't sell it to someone else unless you get a paid .tk name.
Yes there have been cases in the past..its mostly because they send some reminder mails before the expiry of the domain for modifying the domain details..and if you do modify any details..you cannot transfer the domain out to any other Registrar for some 60 odd day period or something..
I've always done a search or two on the forums, google etc... Whenever I am looking to register more domain names. I would usually think of it right when I was on the order page with everything filled out and done, when I finally see that text field that says "enter promo code" and I'd have this panic to find a promo code, thinking that if they have that text field, there's a way I could save some money here... I just can't bring myself to register the domains until I find a promo code or get frustrated enough that I can't find one that I finally give up. It usually turned my domain registrations into a lengthly process. I've usually always used namecheap, 1and1, netfirms and a few others... Was never a big fan of GoDaddy due to some of their business practices, but they do seem to have some of the best deals and promos out there. I finally found a site, http://www.domainpromocodes.com, which lists promo codes so I don't have to go searching all over the place anymore! I don't know why I never found a site like this before, seemed to be the only places to find domain promo codes was on the big coupon sites where they have everything from grocery store coupons to online print stores etc, and usually the domain promo codes are already expired. If you're like me with your domains, check out that link there it saved me a few bucks.
