Where can I buy a list?

I heard that you can buy lists. Any idea how this works?

The first thing I thought of was a list of emails which I hope is not the case.

 

They might mean a list of leads for sales. I know i have seen sites that sell leads but i have never used any.

 

I havent a clue, I had asked that on a whim of not knowing what the story behind it. I now am understanding that I don't want this route because I'd like to build my list naturally.

I think so too.

If it is so, then stay away of it by all means. I can get you in trouble with your webhost or ISP, because of spam complaints.

List of what? List of emails, domains, addresses, names, locations?

 

The best list you can have is your own. Don't buy a list - then you end up just spamming people. Build a list of people who have either bought from you, or have some kind of commonality. And DON'T spam them - always offer an opt-out link in your emails

 

There are many sellers, who sell that on DP.

 

I am not interested in buying any lists. I thought it meant something else. Please don't pm me for offers to buy your list.

I don't agree on buying a list... it's just spamming people.

 

I have had many people send me emails over the years stating that they have bought an email list with my email on it and it annoys me so I'd never even think of doing it now that I am starting my own.

 

I've got a few old shopping lists I'm willing to sell to the highest bidder
