Open up twitter account in forum name
    Open up twitterfeed account
Add forum rss feed to twitterfeed
    Search twitter for your keyword
Follow people from your forum account
    Hopefully some follow you back
Do nothing more - its on auto pilot (unless you want to work at getting more followers)

Yes, but you might want to get a mod from vb.org to exclude some forums from the external feed. I exclude the Introduction and off-topic forums --- so what goes to twitter (and anyone who subscribes to the RSS feed) is the important and relevant stuff.

I used to subscribe to the RSS feed from one popular vb site until they added a subforum for ebay auctions -- imagine all the crap that came through in their RSS feed - needless to say i cancelled and i rarely remember to visit that site anymore!

(Note to MODS -- how about splitting of this twitter/RSS feed into a new topic as its going away from the original question)

    32.37% Direct Traffic
    11.31% Referring Sites
    56.30% Search Engines

So that's not too bad. I like seeing over 50% from search engines as I feel that's how you gain continued growth. When you are below that number it means more of your daily visitors are repeats. Having constant fresh viewers will allow you substantial growth.

    Some top referring sites are:
    Youtube
    StumbleUpon
    Meebo
    Facebook
    Omgili

Thanks Rectangle man....My question to All of you so far is....How do you get to the point where Search engines are giving you a ton of Traffic. Did you have to spend a TON on Adwords?

Or did you have to just be patient and wait?

Still interested in where others traffic is from..

I've spent roughly $0 on AdWords, and a lot of time optimizing for search engines.

Same here. SEO is not about spending money. It's about making the right decisions for your site.
