I dunno if this is the best place to ask, but it seemed to be the most relevant forum to post in. Where are some good places to find serious investors and sponsors for internet related businesses? Thanks
What are you looking for? VCs or something smaller? Here's a decent list of VCs: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_venture_capital_firms
Thanks for the list of VCs. But, I believe I am looking for something smaller. Most VCs will not consider investing less than $1mil and that is more than is needed currently. Do you know of any smaller investor firms or angel investors? Maybe there are even active investors on some notiable online communities? I am not for certain the exact amount I need yet, but I do not expect it to be more than $100k. Thanks for your reply though...I will keep that list in mind.
the question is why would someone trust you ?do you really have unique idea that can make fortune ? ... make a project or website explain your idea's in them and advertise i am sure if you have great investment idea you will get success but risk is there someone may steal your idea .. so either take this risk or forget it
The first thing would be to get some angel funding, this usually from your friends and relatives and whoever who knows you and believes in your business plan. Get what you want to start off the ground then seek external funding like the bank or VC.
If you have to ask, you probably should wait a few years. You should learn about business plan proposals and probably work for a few other business before leaping into your own.
KunkVentures: Believe me I know what I am doing. I have already put a good amount of my own money into the business, and it is up and running. I am just getting ideas from people who have dealt with other investor firms and what not. Or know of a good community to go to and network with people. I have a business plan...the only thing i need to work out in that plan is an exit plan. I was looking for investors that are interested in internet businesses because all local investors in my town are not! Believe me I have talked to them about it...they believe in building a motar and brick building first and expanding into the net later. So, I thought the best place to search for them would be online. Also, I know no one in my family or network of friends that could invest money into this business other than my father...and I sure as hell aint talking to him about it! Still, I thank all who have given me some insight...however, I am still needing your experience and advice. What differ communities and investors have had experience with or know are trustworthy. I really wish I could find a community online to network with other other than DP, WHT, WMT, and SitePoint. Do not get me wrong...these are good forums, but you have to be careful on them...and there are a good number of underage users. Yes, some of them probably do make more money than I do, however, they can not enter into a legal agreement with me. Thanks
Fundraising The Internet is still an ideal place to begin. But a word of warning. If you do a Google search for “fundraising†you’ll receive over 50 million hits. And most of these are businesses that are offering products for you to sell. In other words, they aren’t exactly wealthy businessmen eager to throw money at you. No, you’ll have to dig deeper to find the company that funds a small group, like you represent.
Angel ventures is the key, i did some research about this about 2 days ago. There is some really great sites about venture capital when searched on google. I'll try to find a link to one that was an exellent source which helped me come to the conclusion that venture capital is not something i should go for due to many negative factors it might put on your shoulders. Best way would be to find family or friends that believe in your business. It's always better to deal with someone who knows you, not that much weight on your shoulders from an outside company. Good luck
