I can't find my backlinks on google after many months. I'm sure I'm doing it right by using link:www.mysite.com.
That doesn't really work. I think it hasn't been updated for a long time. My site only shows two links that way, but I have several thousand. For more accurate results, create an account with Google's Webmaster Tools. It will give an exact listing for each backlink Google has crawled.
Why does backlinkwatch show only a small percent of the backlinks that yahoo shows? I like the way that backlinkwatch shows each link's pr, but why does it not show all links? Which backlink checker is best to show us which links Google deems more important than others?
Google is very shy of showing backlinks. Im not sure, but I think Yahoo is also changing their engine to show less backlinks.
Even webmaster tools only shows a fraction of the links Google knows about. They don't want people having too much info to reverse engineer their algo with.
I think there is a problem with Google command line, I posted in Google section and asked about it but got no response. link:www.mysite.com can give you no link or very few but try link: www.mysite.com and you can get hundreds or thousands links. The same problem is with Site:www.mysite.com and Site: www.mysite.com which give different results.
dont worry about that, about 8 month ago, you can not see for reall how many above PR4 links are linking to you they have canceled that, also the site: is also not 100%, go to yahoo and check there.
