use in title, use in meta description & use in article.
But using keyword in article search engine have condition and that is "you can use the keyword in article 2% - 5% within total word of the article".

Use also in h1,h2 en H3...
Never overdue keyword, 2% is max
Never write for engines but for people, google is getting smarter every day so there is a whole lot more then just keyword density.

The title, and all through out. Just make sure it reads good and your keyword density is not too high/too low, and you should be good!

if you overdo SEO then you will have nothing except wasted time. do not think that a search engine will love your article, keep thinking like humans do. get a topic, write about it and let human visitors do the rest.

anyway, the search engines are not existent while we talk to each other, are they? do you do a search while talking to your friends e.g. "oh yes, last night we went out and had a beer ... WAIT: [IMG]

...and then you start talking about an article in WikiPedia since linking to an authority site gives more reputation? man, come on....stop thinking like a bot!

be yourself while writing articles. be informative and educate others if you like to, but never ever put yourself into the box and ask "how to think out of the box" if you don't have to.

    HTH

PS: the search result above shows where to put your targeted keywords in an article. they're highlighted. ask google itself, they ARE VERY HELPFUL to questions. it's their job

The thing is you need to maintain keyword density, keep your keyword density around 2% for better result.

You must use your keyword in title, heading, content etc.. these are the main spot for using keywords, but they should look natural too.
