I just started a site. sandsword.com It gets updated everyday with anything I have the time to put on it. Anyway, it currently only is getting $0.01 day and about 3 unique visits. I was wondering, when do the visitors usually start coming faster and money start going up? And what free advertising should I use?

Why choosing free advertising? Pay a little bid at adword will give more performance!

Because I can't use any more money on the site. If I could use paid advertising I might. But that's offtopic. I want to know if there is any good FREE advertising.

For me, without paying for advertising, it usually takes about three months. I just get myself linked in directories like DMOZ, truthlaidbear, and sites related to my content, I ping, I trackback, I post useful comments in people's blogs, I write articles/entries that people will want to reference and link to. After about a month, I show up on first page search results, and then most of my traffic comes from google/ask/yahoo/msn searches. By the end of three months, I have an established readership, people are posting my links on their own sites, and I've got decent traffic. Good luck!
