    Hi guys,

Im currently creating my website about a certain product in the market... however it gets very discouraging looking at all the related sites out there.. im not sure it would be wise to continue. can i get feedbacks to those who have done it so far?

are niche products ok for adsense? and how do you proceed knowing that there are a lot of sites almost the same as yours?

    Thanks for the replies!!

maybe you could focus your niche on a particulare type of person that uses this product..
instead of making your site for "everybody on earth that owns this widget" try making your niche something more narrow, like:
    • People with red-hair that own this widget
    • Experts that own this widget
    • New users of this widget
    • People that own this widget and also own a neon-racing-stripe widget

Get what i mean? even in a product-niche, there are sub-niches that when chosen wisely can work very well..

Also with niche websites don't limit yourself to adsense. The traffic for niche and sub niche websites is not a lot, but it can be very targeted. Use CPA adverts of what your visitors really want. Then watch them eat up your offerings and give you much more than 0.50 a click.

Niche: def. "a distinct segment of a market"

If there is a tremendous amount of competitors out there, maybe you are not developing for a distinct 'enough' segment of your market. I completely agree with Tearabite, you should look deeper into your target market to find an area that has not yet been 'exploited'.

You could also try to re-package your product/website. I'll give you an example. I found a great product to sell on ebay. It was kid of a big metal suitcase wich was selling like crazy on ebay. The only problem was that Ebay was flooded with this product, everyone was selling it and at a good price too. So when I posted my auction, I posted it in a differenct category and with a different name than other and I gave it this name: Suitcase for a magician:) Even though there were many people that weren't magicians and could have use the suitcase, I choose a specific market.

I don't know if you could apply this but always think outside the box.
