When you think of 80's music, what band do you think of?

I have a friendly dispute with a friend of mine about this topic.

Without either of us mentioning which band we think was the most prolific and popular of the 80's, please state what you think.

i love coldplay band, the guys are amazing.

 

duran duran, depeche mode, flock of seagulls, blondie....

 

Depeche mode, New Order...

or Metallica, Sepultura & Slayer

 

I liked the police, they had some great hits.

 

i like backstreet boys

 

For me it was Duran Duran.

 

I was in college in late 80's and we used to enjoy the live shows of one Indian band 'Rock Machine' and just loved their music. I wonder if anyone else have heard or recollect hearing about them though!
