Hello! I'm not sure if this is the correct category for this post but I might as well post this for feedback. I'm about to sell a blog but I'm thinking if recurring monthly earnings (say via text-link-ads, sell of links) should also be transferred to the new owner once its sold? Or can I retain those recurring earnings? Let me know. Thanks, Sam
Well it does look like a logical thing to do. I don't see why a person would purchase a blog where by some money earned by the site goes to the original owner. UNLESS you have a special prior arrangement.
It totally depends on your agreement with the buyer at the time of the sale. Usually the form of recurring income does go to the buyer. When you sell, you usually sell everything on it.
As the others have said it depends on the agreement. For most people the determining factor on whether to purchase will be the income it is generating so they will expect to receive that when they purchase.
depends on how the money was made. if it was made by the new owner than yes it should be transferred. i once had an affiliate site that i sold. one of the leads that i generated while i owned the site ended up making me another $1,000 a few months after i sold the site. in that case, its mine.
100% earning much be transfer to the new blog owner coz after you sold the blog, you have no right to take any single cent generated by the blog. And the new owner will not happy with this if you take the earning after you sold the blog.
