Established in terms of SERP, PR and monthly income.

Just need to know what's the average webmaster expectation.

    Cheers

I would consider it established as soon as advertisers come calling.

When it is indexed, then I consider it established.

its too much to get tagged as established only when it became talk of the town. for me a small organic traffic and small conversion of effort -> profit i can say it was established.

When the site starts promoting itself and you just deal with moderation and server upgrades, that's when id say its established.

When the site has a steady income (for month(s)) that will go on or improve with little effort (same with traffic).

PS I love to see thread titles saying selling established proxy site, later to learn it's two days old.

I don't think that sites ever get to a point where you don't need to promote them anymore - except for something like google...lol. i think after a year, your promotion costs should be able to lower a little, but you still have to keep promoting it.

At the moment im trying to block some referres because i cant keep up with the traffic. The whole thing went viral. Im not even in the top 10.000 in Alexa yet. So it does get to that point eventually and you dont have to be as big as Google :D

Top 10k Alexa isn't a lot of traffic. I think it took me 100k uniques in one day to get ~7 thousand. Once you get Below like 10k it gets a bit harder to move up and down in ranks

Really depends on your goal. The key is setting a goal reaching it then making a new goal or moving to another niche. Rinse repeat but dont forget to test and tweak the sites to keep up with the demand and changes.

Well, Alexa is a bit of a joke anyway as most people will agree. Under 10k is a mighty good effort though :D I was more referring to your problem with too much traffic. I would love to have that kind of problem. My best site brings in about 1,500 uniques a day, but is still just hovering around the 100k Alexa mark...

This depends on the type of site you have. For a site that gets very few tech and SEO folks, a 10,000 could be very good. For example, the site in my sig got listed on Gorillamask and i-am-bored a while ago. This brought ~25,000 extra visitors in a day (the site was getting 5-10K/day at the time). It didn't even show on Alexa. On the other hand, I posted a link in the DP general forums for a blonde joke that I thought people would like. The Alexa rank almost doubled that day, even though only 30 or 40 people visited.
