I have site that average 900 Uniques a day or 5,000 Uniques a week. It is 3,985,000 or so on Alexa, This is so inaccurate. You would think this would be a site getting like 20 uniques a day. This site should be like 200,000 on Alexa or something right? There is constantly 5-10 people online it all day. I've seen some new forums that have only a few guests online constantly they always seem get there forum ranking well. Like Alexa 300K or something only with a few weeks of being online. I never seem to have much luck with Alexa. Most my visitors never have the Alexa bar installed I think. How much long do I have to wait before Alexa accurately shows my real traffic?
Why Do You want to Increase your Alexa Traffic and why are you feeling tension about Alexa accuracy ? if you 've got your targeted keywords in search engines so that's fine ,but don't worry about alexa. Alexa is Always inaccurate. Thanks John
Yes, from what I've experienced your Alexa ranking should be higher but it won't ever increase if your visitors don't have the tool bar installed. I think it updates fairly often if your Alexa tool bar traffic changes. If your website is new, it takes several months for your Alexa ranking to decrease (increase) because it is based on three month averages and your old avg. is considered in the new average. Alexa also uses page views in their traffic calculation, you mentioned a forum; forums usually have more page views than say a blog. Does your site get a lot of page views? Outside of offering an Alexa tool bar download for all of your website visitors, you can only increase the Alexa ranking by increasing the amount of Alexa tool bar visitors you get and the amount of pages those visitors visit. You can hire a company to send you fake traffic all day which is what a lot of websites do. Alexa has been acting weird all month; as you and John mentioned, it is never accurate. However, some people do consider it somewhat reliable so I can see why you want it increased. It's a joke IMO -
I think your alexa ranking will also increase once there are some visitors always return to your site (of course they have alexa installed too.) You said it's unique, so meaning that they only visit your site once.
It's reliable as a brief guide to which sites in your niche are more popular, use this in conjunction with PR, keyword results and a site's supposed traffic (many reveal it if you pose to be an advertiser) and you have a nice file on your competition.
You guys knows whats even worse. My CPanel Login panel ranks more then my site And thats a personal cpanel login from my VPS its just me using it! lol So my site now went from 3,850,000 to 2,005,000 now, I think it finally moving down. Slowly..

Explain to me why one would promote spyware to their visitors to increase a inaccurate number and has no actual value or use?
"It is 3,985,000 or so on Alexa," I have a site with 100 uniques per day and its Alexa rank is 945,098 ? I suggest you don't worry about Alexa rank, It means no good.
Alexa updated their rankin algo which is great news. They haven't yet revealed the new 'how' they do it though, but I believe its for the better cause most overrated rankers like DP itself climbed down like it really should. So hold on to your horsey, alexa will get better for you with more traffic.
Actually It's Not Spyware As Its Seen Alexa Toolbar Stores Some Cookies About The Sites Visited , These Cookies Stores Information About : Time Spent On The Visited Site ,, How Many Hits The Site Received With The Toolbar ,, And More Information About That After That . When Alexa Updates Rankings They Import These Cookies From Users Of The Toolbar Thats It All Th Best Joseph S.
