When we submit to a directory

    I have a few questions...

    1. When we submit to a directory, do we necessarily have to give a link back to the directory from the website we submit?

    2. If yes, what page should I put the link to directories on and where should it be direct linked from...?

    3. Suppose I'm optimizing my website on 15 keywords and all keywords are related to 15 different pages on my site... (FOLLOWING THE RULE 1 keyword - 1 page) ... do I need to make 15 different submissions to each directory?

    4. If not, what should be the title of my directory search url and which url should i submit?

    5. Any other points necessary to keep in mind before submitting to directories.??

    1. No. A lot of directories are free to submit and you don't have to give a reciprocal link. Some directories give you the option to give them a reciprocal link for a better rank in your category though.

    3. This depends on the directory and will be listed in their FAQ or Terms and Conditions. Most of the time you will only be listing your main page though.

    4. Submit your most general site that links to all your subpages.

    5. Look for high PR directories as they are viewed as authorities and get spidered more often. Be specific with your category and description. Make legit submissions, do not spam directories.

Some request that you do other dont. I personally dont go for directories that request a back link. Why would I place a directory link on my site that is not relevant to my site topic and probably serves no purpose to my visitors?

You could have a links page where you could place it but it doesnt really matter exactly where it is.

No you would make submissions to 15 different directories, keep changing your keywords for as many submissions as possible.

The title should be the keyword you are tageting and for most directories it should be domain url you are submitting i.e. www.yourdomain.com other directories allow deep links that would look something like www.yourdomain.com/page16.html

    Hope that helps.
