Ah, yes.. What scientific evidence? Time is relative. How can anyone possibly establish an accurate date? I found it interesting that scientists claim it takes stalagmites and stalactites thousands of years to form, yet it has been proven time and time again, the same thing can be accopmlished in days, months if not a year. Hell, I could grow one 6 inches tall in a few minutes using a paper towel, a couple of jelly jars and some sodium carbonate. Even scientists disagree on how old the earth is. In the end, who really cares? It's old, whether 4.5 billion years, or 6,000 years, it's old. What difference does it make?
I believe this world was created in just a matter of light years old. Scientist are able to accumulate, but not exact. But am happy to stay here and learning from DP (extra effects)
I cant believe these idiots believe the world is 6000 years old. I mean comon they are obviously brain washed by the bullshit in the bible.
The world we live in now, is almost the same in DP, Why? Have you ever try go 100% of the places in the world, its a long way, and we will need to learn more while we explore, same goes to DP, i am sure that there are a number of percent DP member have ever finish exploring DP, Maybe i am slow, i am right now, only explore 1% of DP, why? In DP there are alot of learning tools each and everyday, in the world, although it is fix, you need time to explore around. Cool. Wonder when was this world created?
Evidence that the earth is older than 6,000 years old. Carbon 14 dating for example. But that's just liberal, godless gobbledygook! Right?
There is no way DP is only 2 years old with as many members as it has. It has to be at least 40 years old, I think ...
http://www.answers.com/gobbledygook&r=67 basically it means NONSENSE! Which is what it is. "Dinosaurs didn't exist because they weren't in the bible."
I've read that Dinosaurs looked nothing like what we believe, they reconstructed them wrong because of the technology they had back then when the first scelletons were found.
Dude, I'm going to give you a pass because of what you've been through lately. But I'm pretty sure Dinosaurs looked a lot like what we've been taught they looked like.
The bible is just a good story rooted in some historical fact, but nothing more. Religion is an institution created by humans to 'explain' the unknown and/or to control the populace and therefore the wealth. Henceforth it has been flawed from its inception. I don't know how anyone can believe the earth is only about 4000 years old when mountains of imperical evidence proves otherwise. Believing the earth, and the universe for that matter, are only 4000 years old because someone wrote a story is like believing that Hogwarts exists because he/she read a harry potter book.
They are mentioned in the Bible from what I read (in the Bible) some large creatures, just were not named "dinosaurs" Man lived with them... And yes, over and over, many of the dinosaurs have been recreated incorrectly. Some scientists admit it some school books still show the ones that are wrong. But oh well, that doesn't mean much does it?. Facts are disputed while myths are taught in school quite often. (another reason we homeschool)
NO, some of what they assumed the dinosaurs looked like has been proven wrong, they just stick with the old looks because they don't want people to get confused.
I believe in the biblical creation account (Genesis, chapters 1 and 2). Therefore, consistenty requires that I believe in the clear statement of Genesis 1:14-19 that the sun was not created by God until the fourth "day" of creation. The sun is our reference point for defining a 24-hour day. There is no basis for the 24-hour day in the first three "days" of creation. Therefore, I agree with the many (but by no means all) conservative Christians who view the use of "day" in Genesis 1 and 2 as a literary device for an epoch of time. The six "days" of creation were six epochs of time — perhaps some very long epochs of time — in which God created all things. The bible account shows Adam and Eve as the last aspect of creation, in the sixth "day". That would not, then, be inconsistent with a 6,000-year counting (referred to above by several) from Adam and Eve to our day.
This is a very tough question to answer. Carbon dating might give an answer. All I can say is (careful of this thought: it can relieve you or perhaps crush you) If you imagined about Time, you;ll know it had no beginning. It proves that infinite number of years passed before I was born. When I die I go back to the same state of nothingness when I was unborn...that is infinity again. I must thank Nietzsche whose "Eternal Recurrence" theory made me form a new theory.
It's true, man. I've seen it on CNN, Fox, several channels. Put your 5th grade Dino books away and turn on the tube
