Yeah, I am currently putting in 40 hours at work and another 40 hours or more at home on my sites. But, I do take time out when I can to go for a run, travel and take some photos (I live photography), go dancing and clubbing and play my guitar. But, the entire point of my putting in 80 hours pw now is in hope for a life where I just work 10 - 20 hours a week on my sites (if I feel like it) from wherever I am in the world and spend the rest of my time doing the things I love to do ......

I hardly work 2 hours a week with SEO(working for myself). I spend most times on forums discussing BS.

:) That's true. I got some time off to myself recently and I thought I would create a couple of "masterpiece" websites. Nada, zilch, nothing at all. I just sat on my a** the whole day, watches movies, ate, drank and worked out. Mind you, although this time wasn't too good for my websites I did work out heaps and lost a couple of kgs too (not that I needed to) ....

So, if I ever do quit my job I do know that I will be living a very healthy life (Until I go bankrupt, of course) :D

I don't know when it would be best for you to quit your day job as I know nothing about how secure your online income is and how many plans you can take if things start going on a downslide.

Anyway, I quit my job when I was making around $100-$150 a week. With my job I was on around $400 a week. The only problem with this job is that I was working about 50 hours a week so I couldn't work on my sites that much.

So I then decided to quit my job so that I could spend more time on my sites and make then grow alot quicker.

Doing this was meaning that I would start earning an income that was less than what I was spending on bills.

The thing that made me decide to quit my job is that I had some savings in my savings account plus I was also told that if I ever needed my job back then they will give it to me, which was great.

When quitting a job you have to make sure that your other source of income is secure in that you now that if there is a downturn then you have other options that can also make you money.

For example, if your site has about 50% - 75% of its traffic from Google then that is a little risky as your site good loose ranking or get band.

If your site as only one revenue source then that is risky as that site that you are earning money from could go bust or may not work as well in the near future.

After more than 2 years after quiting my job I now realise that I had made the right decision.
