Hi, I'm new to the affiliate marketing scene, and had a question. When do you know that a product is not selling so to pull the plug? Low Gravity Product (under 30). Here's some background info. I chose a clickbank product to market, and since I was new I didn't want to jump into something that was highly competitive (high popularity/gravity) So I picked up something I was comfortable with that I had some real life experience with. The product gravity was listed around 14, and hasn't changed much in the past week or so. Method of marketing was Adwords. (maybe this was my first mistake?) I wrote up an ad. Checked how many other people were on the search for the keywords I picked up, and wrote a relevant ad with a great quality score (.03-.10 clicks). CTR has been alright (between 2-8% out of 20,000 impressions), and weeded out or readjusted the bad quality/ high impression low click rates, negative keywords etc. Over the course of a week I've adjusted and tweaked a few key words or tried new ad groups with different ads, but none have given me any sales. The tracker code on the hoplink shows up on the click bank reports so I know the clicks are going to the landing page. So is the problem that I picked up the wrong product to market or is 1 week time too little to judge a product's ability to sell. I've probably burned through about $30 bucks on .5-.10 cpc Adwords (search only no content). Any advise would be appreciated. I don't like to give up on things however I think there should be some point to where I can draw the line. I wanted to kind of get the hang of this before I move on to other methods of promote clickbank products like with a landing page or mall etc.
You did'nt mention how many clicks you were achieving through the search network? You should'nt necessarily measure your success in terms of time but in the number of clicks you are getting. Some people more leaned than I suggest between 100-300 clicks is a fair guide. i.e. if no clicks after 300 then shelve it. Maybe before but at least a 100 should go through. It depends on a lot of things though such as roi, cost per click etc. good luck
Thank you for the response mcjp6. Running about 400+ clicks with 0 sales roughly 2% of 20k impressions. So at this rate its about time to consider it possibly stopping the campaign, and search for another product to market? The gravity of the product is very low so maybe just a hard product to convert possibly? ROI = $0 (no sale no income) Click rate is down to 3 cents on some keywords with a good amount of impressions, position of ads is about 4-6 average. A position 1 for the 8% ctr one. I guess I'll try my luck with another product.
yes, 400 clicks is quite a few with no returns, dpends on what its costing but I would try another product good luck
