When to go from shared hosting to a CDN ?

Hello, I was wondering when one would need to switch from a shared hosting account like Hostgator to a CDN.

I am talking about sites that simply provide information articles (no other downloads). Each page loaded roughly has about 15 include files using static html (not a CMS).

Because that is what I got going with 75,000 visits a day right now and growing. And now I have noticed my sites are starting to load slightly slower (but just slightly) and I am starting to get worried about this.

I figured at about 100k to 150k one should switch to a CDN, and anything over 200k visits a day one should switch for sure. Am I right?

Any thoughts on this? Anybody have any experience with this in the past? Also any CDN suggestions? I heard rackspace.com is good..

    Thanks!

You're confused at what a CDN is. Even with a CDN, you still need a shared hosting account (or VPS or Dedicated). A CDN does not take the place of your hosting. The material still has to be stored on a server somewhere.

A CDN would complement your current hosting solution, not replace it. You could even create your own CDN of sorts by setting up a second server to host just your static media such as pictures and videos while your main server handles the backend scripting.

Who are you currently using for hosting? Many hosts have an easy CDN setup in cPanel like CloudFlare. If not you can still set it up yourself.

Is this a jokes that you wanted to upgrade from shared hosting account to CDN? do you know in order for you to subscribe with CDN yet you may need a hosting account as well. CDN is like an plugin that boost your site and it is not a hosting/website.

You dont need to go all rude. If he doesnt understand something why don't you explain it to him rather than calling it a joke?
