When To Give up On a Campaign?

I started promoting a clickbank campaign. I spent a lot of time setting everything up correctly and have 90% of my keywords with "Great" quality score. The problem is that it's not converting. I've sent over 200 targeted clicks to the offer and it hasn't given me a single sale.

I mean I don't mind losing money, it's just I haven't seen a single conversion. i check the keywords and stuff and everything seems fine. The product has a high gravity so it means ppl are making money off of it.

    Any thoughts?

The high gravity also means high competition. There is probably a lot of other marketers at Adwords gunning for that sale. Try to offer a free bonus or some type of an incentive for these people to buy from of you and not your competitors. How targeted are your keywords? The more targeted the more likely to convert. If you were selling guitars a keyword that wouldn't be very targeted would be electric guitar - it is very general. A targeted keyword would be gibson les paul sunburst or gibson guitars for sale. The more specific the keyword the better.

Do you have a landing page or are you direct linking? If you have a page did 200 visitors click the link to the merchants product?

If you're happy with your CTR, but not your conversion rate then there is probaby very little wrong with your PPC campaign. Your website is failing to do its job. Once the vistior clicks on the ad, it's your website's job to turn the click into a conversion. Try improving your landing page and make sure you are not promising more than your website offers. Here are some tips to improve your conversion rate.

I'd test it with $100 worth of click (I measure it in term of $ rather than click) if it's a clickbank product, if after numerous tweaks I still get lousy conversion, I'll ditch it.

The best thing to do is to only quit when you have figured out WHY the campaign is failing and you KNOW for a fact that you cannot possibly get it profitable or you just don't have the time or energy to do so.

Then and only then can you move onto the next campaign having learned something that you can apply to it - decreasing your chances of failure!

    Cheers

Some experts say use the 300 clicks boarderline from which you can draw much firm decisions on it's profitability. 300 clicks should give you a good indication on whether or not to keep going. Since you haven't made any sales, perhaps you should consider scrapping the campaign.

On the other hand, it may not be the type of product your promoting, rather the keywords you're using. Low converting keywords will require far more clicks for a qualified, targetted visitor, sufficient to purcahse your publisher's product.

hey guys great news. I kept going and guess what? 4 sales today for a total of $70! Spent $120 and got back $70. Lost $50, but I don't care.

I'm going to get this campaign profitable no matter what. Thanks for the help!

I would certainly have been worried with 200 clicks and no conversions as well. The unfortunate situation with what we do is people can't tell us why they didn't convert to a sale - wish they could though?! Glad to hear its turning around for you
