I used adsense for awhile now. Back in the day when I had lots of blogs I put adsense on there to make some cash. My blogging days are long gone, I've moved on to more profitable ventures. Now my websites focus on selling products and services. I run adsense on some of the websites but hardly anyone clicks on them. The CTR is less than .10%. I do get high paying clicks though, like 2$+. However, I make considerably more selling products and services. Should I entirely drop adsense from my product and service websites? Seems like not even worth it to hassle my visitors with the ads.
I guess if you have such a low CTR it is because you don't give the best spots for the adsense ads (and it's understandable) so if you don't give the best spots, then simply stop using adsense, and replace them with some affiliate programs in your niches. You're lucky to have found the motivation to switch from adsense to other more profitable things, my problem is that I have had success with adsense, I also earn money from other things, but it's more accidental, a by product of having lot of traffic for adsense ads. So everytime I start a new site I'm thinking high traffic and adsense, I'm not thinking targeted traffic and affiliations / direct sale. I'm sure if I had spent the time with affiliates program, I could have had bigger success in terms of money, but since the adsense has already been wonderful, it's hard to dedicate some time for other things and start fresh at the bottom and work my way up by learning different techniques for affiliates programs and targeted traffic.
If you are targeting visitors with your own (or affiliate) products get rid of adsense. You don´t want people clicking away from your offers.
Totally agree, I think when someone has different revenues and lets say you make 90% on sales on AM and 10% on Advertising (AdSense) you should know your strength points, and stop wasting time with stuff that just hold you back. @killer2021 I think you should try to give it one last chance but do it right, try to optimize your Ads, and see how it goes from there, if nothing happen is OK, then don't stop using them but start paying attention to the things that really matter like you said, your product and services. Or whatever you are doing just to it right.
