When to find new keyword

When should i start looking for new keywords to target..

I started a link campaign 4 months ago and I selected 3 keywords. I manage to get about 95 links to each. Granted, I know that is not a lot, but I was at least hoping to google to RECOGNIZE the keywords.

When I look in my webmaster tool I get a hogpog of one word terms that were not focused on. Now, I realize one thing, I need to rework my metatags and on page seo. I have dont forum submits, blogs, and article marketing, all have gotten me links but no PR and not much traffic on an ongoing basis.. I would appreciate some insight as to where I may be going wrong.. Please feel free to take a look at my site and poke some holes in the SEO I have done.

On page SEO is the basic part to work on before going after backlinks.
You can get nice guidelines on onpage SEO from Google pdf ebook.

I suggest you to select combination of high, medium and low competition level keywords for your link building campaign.

It is easy to get top ranking for low level competition keywords and once you able to rank top 3 for this keyword, get a new keyword and replace this in your link building campaign.

Meanwhile, keep building link for moderate and high level competition keywords until you can reach top 3 ranking for that too.
