Just trying to get a consensus opinion among the experts here: How long do you usually wait before bailing on a product that's just not selling? I don't mind a slow climb to the top, but there's one product in particular that's dragging me down...I'm averaging just 2/100 order form impressions and, obviously, zero sales...I'm getting clicks on adsense at a reasonable price and decent placement; I've tweaked the keywords and the sales page seems quality, but nothing in a little over two weeks... How long do you guys usually wait before heading out to greener pastures?
I think it depends for everything, it is nice to see some early sales and then to tweak things to improve the conversion rate, but if you have sent a few 100 and not seen anything then I don't think anyone would really argue against you if you wanted to drop it - especially if you are able to convert other products and are doing similar things with this one but it just isn't working.. it depends on how it fits within your marketing mix though and if it is in the same niche as other products which are all on your website and if you think there is any value in keeping it for comparison reasons, but if it is not converting even a little then probably not still as it is better to send your traffic to rival products that do convert.. I would probably drop it But if you do have some emotional attachment then perhaps you could email the vendor - show them your landing page, the keywords you are buying and ask for their thoughts on why it isn't converting
Good idea, but id recommend split testing for a couple of weeks at least, make it so half your visitors goto the cb page and the other half goto the adsense page
i dont really ditch products, i just move to others and maybe get few sales for my older products... so it might worth it after all. you can never know when and from where your next sale will come from i still make sales from product that i left months ago, not much but it is still nice.
