When things are slow, (meaning your not making any sales), does anybody else sit around, stare at the screen with a empty pit in your stomach. I hate the downtime. My marketing capital is spent. I play video games until I am bored. I might take the dog for a walk, but then I am right back in front of the screen again. Am I the only one? If not, what do you do during your slow times?
Diversification. I have sites that sell stuff only at Valentines day and likewise for Christmas. I have sites that pull in a steady income all year round. Never rely on one site and have your finger in more than one pie. Simple KP
I have been thinking about some different areas to have sites in, however, I always want to be the best. I won't jump in unless I know I will have a good chance at success. My strengths are sometimes more conceptual than practical. In other words, my income limits me to smaller projects. But my mind is always dreaming about grand projects...stuff that has never been done before. But I am a light programmer and sometimes seek my geeky friends to help with the heavy lifting. Sometimes I think about getting rid of my house and mortgage payment, so I can free up an extra $1,700 a month for my projects and move into a two bedroom apartment. Oh I wish I had a golden goose!
When things go wrong, as they sometimes will, When the road you're trudging seems all up hill, When the funds are low and the debts are high, And you want to smile, but you have to sigh, When care is pressing you down a bit, Rest! if you must; but don't you quit. Life is queer with its twists and turns, As everyone of us sometimes learns, And many a failure turns about When he might have won had he stuck it out; Don't give up, though the pace seems slow; You might succeed with another blow. Often the goal is nearer than It seems to a faint and faltering man, Often the struggler has given up When he might have captured the victor's cup. And he learned too late, when the night slipped down, How close he was to the golden crown. Success is failure turned inside out; The silver tint of the clouds of doubt; And you never can tell how close you are, It may be near when it seems afar; So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit; It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit.
Usually when the day is slow and im not making any sales, or not feeling productive, i go out or surf here, read some tips, request some link exchange on my other site.
When I get bored at warching the stats and after visiting forums. I watch a movie but its got to be a funny one they are the only ones that change my mood.
I would just give up and find other revenues which is more worth of my time. No point trying and trying.
There are going to be down times and times that you make money. When your in the down time, look back and make yourself happy, until you get your sales backup again.
I watch quite a few movies also. If I sold my collection of DVD's I probably could afford to build a grand website, lol.
