I know anchor text is huge for keywords but what if the anchor text contains an extra word that people wouldn't normally search for. I.E. I have a T.V. business and I sell the Plasma 620 series. If I put Big Al's Plasma 620 series will that ruin the Plasma 620 series as a keyword since Big Al's is also involved? I would like to just put the product name but don't see sites allowing just the name of the product; will it be enough to enter the "Big Al's Plasma 620 series" and just talk about the 620 series in the description, or is the anchor text the determining factor...plz help an ego checked guru
I don't think it will ruin it, but the link might be slightly weaker that way. It will still work though.
I had some SEO expert explain that 'Strong Web Directory' is 33% less effective than 'Web Directory'. Not sure though and would like to hear other opinions.
does the "-" really make that extra word not count in the anchor text? I need more opinions...maybe someone who knows for sure?
as a directory owner i would rather see the link witht eh company name in it than just the 620 series part.
from a SEO point of view, your exact keyword in your Title (anchor text) is always better. but how better? nobody can really tell...
I start off with a long search string and then build links with different variations of the number and order of the included key words. That is without turning it into meaningless jumble. Directorymasters that wont allow anything but the "official" title are no good for link buiding purposes, wont pass you traffic and should be avoided.
It will not ruin it. It will help you rank better on all combination of these words. However if someone else is using only the main keyword, and has the same link factors as you he will rank better. So you will rank for more keywords, while the other way you would rank better for the one single keyword. It's your choice.
