    Hi,

Normally how many unique visitors do you hold until you start to add a forum to your sites?

    Thanks.

I would ask why not when.

I had a hobby site that had 200 uniques per day and started one as its an ideal subject to get people posting and interacting, its now over 20k posts and 1k members within a short space of time.

It doesn't need huge amounts of traffic, in saying that I added a forum to a site that had 20k uniques per day and it never took off so as long as the subject matter is a good one and can easily facilitate discussions you don't need large volumes of traffic for it to be successsful.

If your forum starts to grow you ceratinly need to quickly find responsible people that have shown some maturity that you can approach to ask for help as moderators so that you can decrease your involvment.

At the start you'll be fed up having conversations with yourself and replying to every post made but once it builds up with some moderators helping you can withdraw and spend less time.
