When should I start selling resale rights?

I recently launched GTL CASH -- a new money-making system available through ClickBank -- http://www.GTLCASH.com

I've been getting a lot of emails from people asking me if I want to sell resale rights, private label rights, source code, etc.

I always imagined publishers doing this AFTER the product has run it course -- that is, closer to the end of it's sales life. But maybe I'm wrong??

I'm interested in hearing what you have to say -- when is a good time to start selling resale rights, etc., for a product??

    Thanks!

    Dave

You got the point right. If you have a profitable product, you wouldnt want to do anything to screw things up, like selling its resale right. By doing so you will simply create yourself extra competition. Its basically like digging a grave for your product.

However, if your product sales are getting slower everyday, and you simply want to earn a few fast bucks, resale rights can bring you extra cash if done right - but it will kill your standard sales as well.

Thanks for the input. I had a feeling the right thing to do is hold out, maybe I just needed to hear it from someone else. It's just that one of the offers is an awful lot of money, and I'm weighing my options -- wondering if it's more than the product's current profit potential (with me running it). Did that make any sense?? Maybe I should take the cash and run...LOL.

An almost obvious question that you should be asking yourself right now is if this offer of "an awful lot of money" is something legitimate and that you'll actually get paid by the person/business that is offering it to you. I don't see why anyone would offer a large sum of cash for resell rights to a product that is just breathing new life and hasn't shown signs of jumping off the charts yet.

If you're short on cash, you can consider offering resale rights right now. Otherwise wait till you have made as much money you can off your product.

If your product is in Clickbank you surely can't offer Master Resale Rights per their policy.

I agree, I've been seeing some products with great potential but die too fast. Don't be the same.

Hmm, well, IMHO, this is in the make the moniez niche, and obviously has tons of competition. You do have an interesting pitch though, so I'm sure people will promote it. The question is how many people and how much that will make you each day. Could be 0 on some days, could be 50ish, could be more. So, gamble on your own, or take these offers. If you want to take the money for resale rights, that's not a bad route to take at this point in my opinion. It will have hopefully been profitable for you, so that is a success right there.
