So i just got a blog about a week or two ago ,and i was wondering on when i should put adsense on it. I heard once that if you put adsence on your site too early you can get penalized. is that true?
I don't think so, in fact if you use adsense in your blog early you will learn more about the placement and about every structures of adsense at your blog. Also you will make money from it but in cents.
It's important to keep Google happy by following their webmaster rules - such as making sure you have links to your privacy policy, affiliate disclamer and preferably contact information. If you have this in place AND good useful unique content on your site - then you can put adsense. BUT even using adsense can slow or delay the progress of your site ranking and the amount of traffic Google send you. After all, why should they send you traffic then pay you for it unless you have something useful? My suggestion would be to be a bit patient and get into a routine of adding new content at regular intervals (at least twice a week) for a few weeks before adding adsense. Until you start earning money from adsense or getting lots of traffic, Google are unlikely to check out your site - giving you time to make sure your content is useful enough to produce low visitor bounce rates and browsing times of more than a few seconds. Then you will at least get recurring income to build on.
Seafrontsteve, I agree with you to an extent, except the above quote. Google doesn't necessarily "pay" AdSense users. Google makes money every time someone clicks an ad, so it's really no loss to Google. I do want to say to the OP, that you really should wait before putting ads up. Like Steve said, get some content up and starting bringing in traffic -- show Google that your site is valuable and worthwhile. If you set up ads too early and then Google sees you're not really getting the traffic, then you could suffer from smart pricing.
I think its best to get a few hundred page views per day before you start adding adsense. Otherwise, you're not earning anything, and its frustrating looking at a zero earnings figure in your adsense account day in and day out!
First of all try to build a proper readership / traffic to your blog otherwise it would be the most frustrating as you will see zero earning. SO try to build your blog first and then try to monetize it.

i am 100% agree with seafrontsteve. but take the time to experience, after 3 years i notice that privacy policy is a must.
as for as you are having privacy policy you can put adsense right from begining. as the more you late, the more you waste possible money thanx
