When "ridiculously sounding" domains are claimed as directory

    i can see daily that flippa still sold these "ridiculously domain" directories for around $200-300, lol.

    This is not true the pagerank will not always fall off se emy directory i have had it for over a year and still pr3 because i dont promote it anymore.

    I have a site that was a PR6 11 year old domain, 100% natural traffic, no artificial promotion or buying of links that just went poof one day for no other reason than "its a directory".

    Don't get to cocky! ;)

    I dont think there is anyway to educate directory owners, other than posting well details guides around most web development forums.

    However, there will always be the kids who think they can simply buy a domain and start a directory. There will always be " Kidrectories " which die off very fast, or as you said earlier - Link farms which die.

    That's pretty much the same economies of scale that spammers rely on. That doesn't mean we shouldn't try to warn people off these directories, just as we warn people off buying stuff from spam email.
