The "too many scammers" cliche is plain wrong. Are you telling me that Russia has less online frauds than Romania? It's just plain incompetence. Again Romania has the highest outsourcing market in Europe and again it is Paypal that is losing here. Regards, George
You're right..Everywhere i go, people are talking highly about romanians reffering especially to their high quality services and good prices. I'm proud to be a romanian!
actually most of the scams come from USA (I think it was around 1/3), so if scammers were their biggest problem then USA would have been removed long time ago. And I have to agree that PayPal is losing a lot because of their country limitations - I know Estonia is a very small country, but it is one of the few countries in the world where economy is growing over 10% and wages 10 - 20% per year (wouldn't it be nice to have a market where your revenues would rise 10 - 20% every year). Also most of the people already use online banking every day, so adapting PayPal wouldn't be difficult.
paypal will come to romania when they won't worry about fraud. Same with Costa Rica. Paypal is allowed here, but it won't accept a Costa Rican bank account.
PayPal works with Romania beginning today ...not at full features ...but Romanians can create accounts now.
At least is a first step. Basically almost all countries cand send now money with PayPal. LE: Funny thing, they use the old flag with the comunist sign
Paypal is not a reliable processor anyway. I have my PP account frozen once for superfluous reasons. Glad that they have been quick to restore my account. I you have 2co stick with it. MB is also good. Dick
what the heck? does this mean that we can't withdraw the money from our paypal account? if so paypal is mostly worthless in romania....what do they expect? the merchants to keep the money in theyre paypal accounts till paypal decides to let romanian users withdraw money?
Right now i use as payment methods : 2CO (rarely, but it seems the best option for romanians so far) , MB, paypal for receiving and paying online ( a friend from abroad made me an account on his name ) and epassporte ( recently, they announced they won't allow new accounts from high risk countries ,that includes Romania)
isn't Romania send only? If so, then there is no use of withdrawing because you cannot accept payments. I live in Estonia and I have the same problem - I cannot accept payments although I would really love to accept PayPal payments on my websites.
paypal sucks i'm using for exemple moneybookers or wired transfer I'm a romanian but don't care about a monopoly like paypal fuc* them they are loosing not us the just poted romania on the list but only to send payments not to recive witch equals 0
I read here about people willing to kill for a PayPal account. I was wondering if someone will pay $5 for an e-book that tells, step-by-step, how to receive money, legally, living in Romania, using PayPal. The basic idea is simple. You get an virtual address in a foreign country, get a bank account in that country and register with PayPal using that virtual address. I'm not talking here about VCCs and such. The idea is free. $5 are for learning HOW to do it, not WHAT to do.
Why? Let's say I have 2 citizenships and I have one home in Romania and another home in another country (Italy). If I live 6 month in Romania and another 6 month in Italy, which answer should I give to "Select the country or region where you live"? I am pretty optimistic that legal solutions can be found, if one tries hard enough. If you allow me a joke, "Once, Mike Yaconelli (founder of Youth Specialties, the largest youth ministry resource group) wrote about holding a bible study outside in the lawn of the church to allow new converts in their College & Career group to smoke. A few members of the congregation pulled up and asked him how he could allow young adults to smoke while reading the bible. He looked at them and said, "I think the better question is how did I get a bunch of smoking young adults to read a bible". " I believe the trick is to give a legal answer to a certain question.
You can now (starting yersterday) send money to Romanians with paypal. Yes, Romanians now have full options on paypal.com
