Just curious, if anyone's willing to answer. When linking to a product from your review site or blog, do you make the link open in a new window, or do you make the link open in the same window? And why? Thanks
A similar question was asked on the Warrior Forum and the answer given there was to open it in a new window (so that customers don't click back to the previous page). I'm still testing this to see if that's the right thing to do.
Interesting. I'm currently just making links open in the same window, might try changing a few of the links..
I don't have the answer to which converts better, but I think it is normal for things to open in a new TAB, but when something opens up in an actual new window it really annoys me.. I'd say either same or new tab are normal, but new window.. I dunno, feels spammy to me perhaps?
I also open it in a new window, personally I always use rightclick and "open in new tab" when I'm surfing
To answer this I would say make it open in the same window, the reason I do this is because if you have a pre sell on your blog, and then the customer reads through you are leading them onto the product page. Once they click on the link they will go straight to the product page and read on. If they have the choice to see your blog again they might go back and read something else or leave. Just my 2 pence!
open in a new window, i think it work the best because in this way the reader doesnt live you site so he or she spends more time and here is your chance to sale more.
