When it is but it isn't

I agreed to start a website for one of my best friends that is anti-gambling, ie his addiction took over his life, so I did, but when I tried to use some coop weigth towards "stop gambling" it was rejected because it was gambling related.

Is this a valid point because the coop shouldn't be related to anything in that genre or should such a site be ok as it does not promote it?

The co-op disallows anything "gambling related", so the reviewer was correct by disallowing it.

I probably should have given a little more info as to why it's like that. :)

It's like that because the line has to be drawn *somewhere*, and it's easier to just make it black and white (anything gambling or pharmaceutical related). Otherwise you start having all sorts of "informational" sites with spammy looking anchor text... "Viagra", "Viagra Info", "Poker" (could be a how to play site), etc...

S'ok, you had me at hello :D

It's not the type thing you can really mess about with as regards grey areas I guess or else there would be whole discussions on shades of grey so no problem, thanks.
