The voice in the radio said the next PR update will happen within 7 days from now - Perhaps July 7th :)

I noticed some heavy crawling around July 2/3. Haven't noticed any indexing or PR changes yet though.

Heh. Googlebot visited my site around 9:00 this morning. Crawled one page, and it's not even the index page. Frankly, I have no idea why it chose that one page, because it seems very random in nature (i.e. it's not linked from the index). One page out of 9000 and left.

    The confusion continues.

Wow, Google has crawled yet another page yesterday. So that's basically one page per day per crawl. At this rate, it'll only be another 9,000 days until Google finally crawls my entire site! Success!!

Google will 'sniff' your site like this for a while before it comes back for a major complete crawl. Be patient. Give it a few weeks.

    TooCool,

Yea, you might want to try more links from the index page to deeper into the site. Google seems to follow those well, but yea, it crawled one - ten pages of mine for weeks and weeks, at it's peak it was hitting almost 2000 a day. I removed the random deep links and now it's dropped to 200. I'm not sure if it's cause and effect, but worth a try perhaps.

It's also interesting to note that Google calls sites of different PR to different levels-- at least on the initial 'full' crawl... If you want to get a large portion of pages indexed fast, make sure that there aren't too many links to get there...

Well my PR would go up if Google would just update those high-ranking sites that are linked to me (I have about a dozen, each one PR5 and up). But they haven't. I've had those links in place for a month and they still aren't showing up in Google as a viable backlink to me. They aren't even showing my DMOZ links, and I have about 7 of those. (Don't ask, they were originally for my old site, I just had them updated.)

At this point I've given up trying to figure Google out. Eh, whatever. They'll either do it or they won't. I'm sick and tired of waiting for them.
