When is a click, a click?

    hi all,

I operate many websites, as a spare time hobby, and have recently started sending traffic to my sites via advertising.

When I look at my logs, I see some interesting things and I am wondering if there is a click guru around who could explain what some of these things mean.

For demonstration purposes - so its easier to understand - allow me to use one of my sites - it is an adult survey site but has adult content ads( soft core). However if you are squeamish, please dont go and have a look.
    http://www.cybersex-survey.com/

As you can see, this site contains some survey questions. Each question is an xml file.

When I , or a regular human, goes to this page my logs tend to show that the page is loaded, along with all the image files as well as the xml files.

But I have noticed that a lot of the traffic that comes from adverts does not do this - instead often only the html page is loaded, but it is not consistent.
(I note that crawlers also only load the html file).

One click from a traffic source may load all the files, the next click from the same source only loads the html file.

I have also noticed on another site I have, that when my logs show a lot of partial page loads, there is a decline in the number of advert impressions shown in my advertiser stats and a decline in revenue to me.

Does this mean that some of the traffic coming to me from adverts is not real, or is there another simple explanation that I am missing?

thanks in advance for any assistance in this matter.

    regards
    ET

If I have sinned by adding the link to my site, my apologies. I coulodnt see how else I could best describe the contents of the site.
