I need your help guys with this concern that i have. I've been receiving payments in paypal for sometime now and all the time, i get around 4% deduction on each money that i get. Let say someone pays me $100, I will only get around $96.

I read somewhere that its possible to prevent this from happening but didnt give the answer. Can you please tell me how this is done? Thanks!

Well if you are india then there is service charge of Rs50 which roughly 1$ or 1.25$ when you withdraw amount less then 150$ or so ..
Meaning 50rs service charge for less 7000rs but its its more then 7000rs then no charge

But in your case i am not sure why 4$ and you are in which country
try to contact paypal customer care via skype using toll free number

He is not asking for withdrawing. He is telling about deduction when you got some funds in your PP.

    PDRFlipper, its PP charge.

Thanks for the reply. Im from the Philippines. Yes i believe that its PP charge for their service but how come im the one paying for it. I do website development for clients and they pay me for the service. If my fee let say is $50, then i should get the whole amount. My problem is i am being deducted for the paypal service charge. Is that standard? because i read somewhere that when they receive payment, they dont get deductions. Is there a setting in PP that lets the sender decide who gets the service charge, if him or the receipient. Thanks!

your not the only one paying for it.. you have a business account (which you need if your doing web development), all business accounts have fees on payments received.

Paypal charges its fees by deducting money from each and every transactions that is carried out through its network. This is how it makes its money! :)

PayPal charges everyone the fees. If it's really a problem, just adjust your pricing to include the fees. I haven't bothered with it myself but I am told that in the U.S., you can use these fees as a tax deduction as a cost of doing business. I don't know how the tax laws are set up in your country but you might look into that possibility as well.

Yes,that is the PayPal fee and they have rights to charge you.
There is a option to don't get fee charged, just use the "personal payment" option and unfortunately Indians are not able to use that option any more.......

Fees are how Paypal makes money. They are a business and don't provide a service for nothing. Now you know why Paypal & Skype make more money than their sister company Ebay these days. ; - )
