i was running a campaign of $35 at $1.00 click or something.. google recommended budget of $250 at $2.00 or something... should i have taken their advice?
Google don't know your business. They don't know your margins. They don't know if you are making money at your current level of spend. And yet you want them to tell you to increase your budget? Work out the most profitable bids for you.
Hi, I agree with most of the above comments. Always wise to choose you own campaign budget and keyword bid price. This should be based on your campaign goals, overall advertising strategy and what you can afford to pay. It's generally wise (unless experienced) to start of low and build up your budget and bid prices once you get a 'feel' for the niche you are in. Cheers, Anthony Buchalka
Take it for whats its worth... It was a recommendation, so if your ROI was in line and you feel if you doubled up your settings you would double up volume, then the advice was good. If you not converting and campaign isn't going well, then doubling things up is not advisable. base it on your results, not their advice.
