When Google is indexing new links?

Discussion in 'Google' started by Respiro, Jan 3, 2008.

Working on link building I noticed something: Yahoo do index all the new links in a very short period - there are significant changes in every 24 hours.

    But...

Google has "no short-term reaction" on link building. I presume that Google will index the new links when it will recalculate PR.

    Is this right?...

It depends on your site. Sites like this forum and one of my forums get indexed daily or several times a day.

    Use a sitemap maybe.

Sign up for a Google Webmasters account, its link processing isn't as quick as Yahoo, but it does get there, and allows you to see a better perspective of your site in the eyes of Google.

A constantly updated sitemap goes a long ways. I get indexed with in 24 hours with a new site with a quality sitemap. Google Webmaster Tools is a great place.

probably, Google has its own update regarding the appearance of a specific site's backlinks. Unlike Yahoo which is somewhat displays almost all the expected backlinks you expect to be shown.

The Google WMT team have said themselves that the Sitemap helps them know which pages you want them to crawl. It doesn't necessarily mean submitting your sitemap will guarantee your site will be crawled, but it does help.

In my oppinon and experience (not much), Google updates backlinks and indexes pages faster than Yahoo, but it just doesn't show them. :)

Yahoo is very quick at finding new links and indexing and listing them while Google needs time for doing this. They are cautious over the credibility of the links more than yahoo.

Google identfies backlinks very fast and calculates them into it's internal pr on an almost daily basis.

Use Google webmaster tools if you are trying to keep track of your backlinks.

I find the opposite, but this difference is caused by the amount of juice fired, and how many pages are added a day. More pages added generally the more often crawled. A bit like a squash ball algo
