Hi. I'm considering giving away free sub-domain accounts to people. In this case, what should I worry and what not to do? For example, linking back to my main site is not very good idea.. and placing Ads is not a nice idea etc..
i think if you are looking for getting many people that use your service you shouldn't place ads on their sub-domains , just a small link to your main page will be perfect . -But if you are looking for more traffic to your ads you should put ads to th sub-domains .
Safe mode or properly set access mode to your web directory must be carefully checked. Or else the subdomains (with their own ftp) can bust your websites. And also, if you give away a DB, ensure you create a custom user for the subdomain websites. With access ONLY on the given away database!
both of them are good ideas but you must allways check the content of those sites . for example think that one of the sub domains has made an adult site and you are using your adsense codes on that sites. it will be terrible for you
