I have site that sees VERY good first page rankings several times a day (when seems to be a serp update) and then flops back to page 2 where it has been sitting for a while. I believe this is a sign of things to come and eventually I'll pull off the first page rankings full time, but anyone have a theory or explanation?
I have no explanation. It's the Google dance and who can explain it. Much more movement than Yahoo or MSN in general. I have a keyword that dances between 4 and 17. Just when I'm feeling good about the 4 the next day it's back to 17.
Maybe they liked your content. But expected constant updates of content as well due to maybe one of your words in your domain maybe.
Those slight bounces are normal. Get some high quality backlinks to that page, using the appropriate anchor text, and your position will stabalize. Good luck
You should be constantly building new backlinks to the site and adding new content and your rankings will stabilize.
Don't worry, this is totally normal. Just keep on pushing forward so you end up on top after all of the jumbling Matt
google dance is always there and as SEO's we should maintain the rankings of the sites we're handling, think of other ways to remain at the top
ya I really have a good product and site, just need to work on offsite marketing now as well... but I really think when you flip/flop like this, that it is a sign of good things to come...
