This is anyones guess. There are rumors that it will open up next month and april and in the summer and next year. So until they actually announce a date there is no sense in listening to these rumors. I can understand your frustration though at having to wait.
Why don't you read one of the 888 other threads asking the same question? Yesterday on the phone, the guy did say "in a few months" whatever that means.
Maybe the mods should make a sticky about this topic... then people will see it on top and not keep asking the same thing over and over and over again!
I agree, but it is a legitimate question that if Yahoo answered it publicly would put this to rest for others.
They probably don't know a specific date/time because it's still obviously buggy...so they probably dont even know when it'll be ready for primetime.
I really hope they at least open up to Canada shortly. I mean.. we're like Americans except we say "eh" a lot and it's colder. I've been patiently waiting for almost a year now since Adsense removed ALL of my sites without reason.
Yahoo hopes to open up the program to International users sometime in the second half of the year. I was told they are hoping for sometime in June, but that is just a target and it could be pushed back. Yahoo still has a lot of bugs they need to work out, and they don't have the advertiser base for International ads. I don't have a large percentage of International traffic, but getting something is better than nothing. International clicks will not pay the same amount as US clicks, which apparently are more in demand and pay higher. Advertisers will be able to include or exclude countries they want their ads to show- similar to adwords, I suppose. There are also certain problem areas while will not be included, at least initially. I got the impression that China was going to be one of them because of a higher percentage of fraud.
This could be. If you do a search on their bid tool you find that alot of the categories and keywords do not have an overwhelming amount of advertisers and some do not have any at all. I would imagine they are working with advertisers to entice them to try their service and hope for a great worldwide launch. This would be a smart thing on their part. If not they risk mass defection to the allready stable Adsense program.
