So I am intrested in a domain I found. It has been expired since Mar. 07 but its not available to register. When I check the whois it says pending deletion. I have been tracking it for the last two weeks and it always says pending deletion. Anybody know why this could be?

It's registered at godaddy. I emailed them asking and they told me the amount of days each process takes to complete before it becomes available. Pending delete take 5 days but it's been pending delete for like 14 days already in that state. Not sure why:confused:

Look at the domain name's WHOIS line called "status". If it says inactive, it's
    not yet in pending delete.

Last I checked Go Daddy gives 12 (or 14?) days grace period. If not renewed
on time, they'll either auction it to an interested party or pull the plug if there
    is no bid for it.

Once it's deleted, the status line will change to redemption period for 30 days.
If not redeemed within those 30 days, it'll then change to pending delete for 5
    days.

One reason registrars don't really like giving exact time period is they cannot
guarantee when that'll happen, and they don't want people dinging 'em for it.

    Hello,
After you won it or "buy now" in Godaddy marketplace, you need to wait for around 20 days :)

Whoever owned the domain registered it for another year yesterday. Oh well it wasn't that good of a name anyway:)
